La Bella Macchina Jets Off

Saturday, February 4, 2017

Jet Aviation celebrated its 50th anniversary year with its annual event, La Bella Macchina. The evening took place in Jet Aviation’s fixed-base operation at Palm Beach International Airport on January 26.

The event also kicked off the 26th annual Cavallino Classic, one of the world’s major Ferrari exhibitions. Nearly 800 people were in attendance, alongside eight planes, two helicopters, one yacht, a submersible and more than 40 classic Ferraris.

Some of the most recognizable names in aviation from around the globe showcased an array of business-aircraft models on the tarmac, including the Gulfstream G550, Dassault Falcon 8X, Embraer Legacy 500 and Phenom 300, Pilatus PC-12 NG, Piaggio P.180, Airbus Helicopters H125 and a Bell 429. In addition, Avpro displayed a Falcon 8x and Avjet Global brought a Gulfstream IVSP. Held in conjunction with The Cavallino Classic, the event also featured the presentation of the Jet Aviation Cup.

The event benefitted Center for Creative Education (CCE) of Palm Beach County, with a silent auction and live auction raising a combined total of over $20,000. For the event, children from CCE’s discovery visual arts program created mobiles of aircraft, inspired by a tour of the FBO in December.

Notable attendees included James Mahoney, Sean and Jessica McGruder, Todd and Brandie Herbst, Campion and Tatiana Platt, Reid and Michelle Boren, Wyatt Koch, Christian Angle, Christoper Levitt, Jack Elkins, Kenn Karakul, Mike Bozzuto, Jeff and Trisha Cole, Peter and Michelle Farmer, Lauri Welteroth, Michael and Lori Bernstein, Mickey Silverman, Byron and Laura Russell, Doron Marom, Lana and Neville Marks, Tiffany and Simon Isaacs, Lisa Kierkorian and Tommy Morrison.
