Lee Daniels will be Honored by the Family Equality Council

The Family Equality Council will honor Lee Daniels at the 10th Annual Night at the Pier event on May 11th on Pier 60. The Oscar-nominated Daniels will be recognized for his work as a director, writer and producer, and his commitment to pushing boundaries and exploring the ideas of equality in his films, which include “Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire” and “Lee Daniels’ The Butler.” He is also the producer of this year’s most talked about show “Empire.”

The Family Equality Council will also honor Bryan Cave senior counsel William J. Hibsher with the Hostetter-Habib Family award, for his support for the LGBTQ community through organizations like the Hetrick-Martin Institute.

The up-coming event will also feature live performances and appearances by leaders in the worlds of art, entertainment, politics and social service. It is sure to be an inspiring and entertaining evening.
