Madonna introduces W.E. to New York

Monday, December 5, 2011

Last night the Cinema Society and Piaget hosted a screening of Madonna‘s film W.E. at the MoMa. Based on the epic love story between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, the film also follows a contemporary romance between a woman and a security guard and stars Abbie Cornish, Andrea Riseborough and James D’Arcy. The Material Girl herself showed up (decked out in 18k white gold bracelet and timepiece) to introduce the film, and drew in quite the crowd—understandably, since who would pass up a chance to hang out with Madonna?

Cinema Society Founder Andrew Saffir greeted guests as they came in, including Harvey Weinstein, Anderson Cooper, Chloe Sevigny, Jeremy Piven, Adrien Brody, Valentino & Giancarlo Giammetti, Donna Karan, Barry Diller, Julian Schnabel, Patti Smith, Andy Cohen, Francisco Costa, Andre Leon Talley, Stefano Tonchi, Rachel Roy, Olivier Theyskens, Prabal Gurung, Steven Klein, Francesco and Alba Clemente, Nina Garcia, Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl, Piaget President North America Larry Boland.

After the film, guests headed over to Crown for the after party.
