Magical Kenya hosts luncheon to advocate for positive Kenya

Monday, June 30, 2014

Earlier this afternoon, the Kenya Tourism Board, Magical Kenya, hosted a luncheon for various media and industry representatives at Craft. Craft is Top Chef‘s Tom Colicchio‘s flagship restaurant on East 19th Street.

The luncheon was held to advocate for Kenya in the US market. The international public view of Kenya in recently has been no short of dangerous due to recent terrorist attacks.

The Kenya Tourism Board promotes the positive attractions their country has to offer. And representatives assured us at the luncheon that extra precautions were being taken to improve tourists’ experiences.

When the Kenyan government announced their annual budget, it was shown that 12 percent of the entire budget would be going toward national security improvements and enhancements. The wildlife is exotic, the scenery is breathtaking, and the people are the friendliest you’ll ever meet.

Some of these friendly Kenyans who attended the luncheon on behalf of the Kenya Tourism Board were Muriithi Ndegwa, OGW and managing director of Magical Kenya and Wausi Walya, PR & corporate communications manager.

Kenya should grace the top of your bucket list, AVENUE insiders. Prime visiting times are April, August and November so next time you get a free week, check it out, you won’t regret it!
