Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig’s opulent and seductive designs, inspired by John Singer Sargent’s artwork, are nothing less but red-carpet-worthy. Marchesa has never been a day-to-day women’s wear brand; the creative duo has always designed for a woman who wants to stand out at a party or at a high-end social gathering. It’ll come as no surprise if one of the Academy Awards attendees wears a Marchesa Fall ‘16 gown to the most regal gathering of the year.

The evening looks included a variety of mesmerizing gowns—Greek-goddess inspired sky-blue and lavender pieces made with tulle and laser-cut organza, and column-structured narrow dresses embellished with intricate floral appliqué, accompanied by jeweled chandelier earrings and pearl necklaces.

While of all of the silhouettes were stunning—from Edwardian-era reminiscent splendid styles to structured cocktail dresses—one of the looks, a 3D-flower-embroidered scarlet organza gown stole the runway and the hearts of the crowd.

Among those attended were Harvey Weinstein, Anna Wintour, Karen Elson, Coco Rocha, Zac Posen, Willow Shields, Ken Downing, Jenné Lombardo, Andrew Saffir, Alina Cho, and Olivia Palermo.
