There is nothing quite like seeing a gorgeous dress walking down the runway. After a week of surprisingly few couture gowns the Marchesa show, held on Wednesday September 16 at the St. Regis Hotel, was a breath of fresh air.


The collection featured many of the classic Marchesa qualities that have made the brand so successful, including breathy, ethereal dresses in lightweight and transparent fabrics.


Featuring a bold color palette, atypical for the brand, models were awash in fuchsia, coral and black, with strikingly intricate embroidery, pleating and beading taking a center place of many of the looks.


Designers Karen Craig and Georgina Chapman were present as was Chapman’s famous producer husband Harvey Weinstein and some of New York’s biggest stars, including Jennifer Hudson, Julianne Hough and Christina Hendricks, who were all anxiously scouting for the perfect dress for the upcoming awards season.
