Yesterday evening the Happy Hearts Fund together with Chopard celebrated their achievements at the HHF Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street. It has been ten years since the Indian Ocean tsunami; therefore, ten years since the birth of HHF.

The evening kicked off with cocktails followed by dinner and the program. Many esteemed guests and companies were honored for their help, support or partnership with the HHF. These included former President Bill Clinton, Michel J. Martelly, John Caudwell, United Airlines, Apl.De.Ap and Will.I.Am.

President Clinton, the founder of the Clinton Foundation, received the Lifetime Achievement award for his leadership and life-saving work ensuring that children and communities are not forgotten after disasters strike.

Martelly, the president of the Republic of Haiti, was given the Leadership in Education award for his transformational leadership after the devastating earthquake and commitment to uplifting the country’s future through education.

Caudwell, a philanthropist and founder of Caudwell Children, received the Children’s Champion award and United Airlines received the Honored Partner award. ¬†Jeff Smisek, the president, CEO and chairman of the board of United Airlines accepted the award on the company’s behalf.

Special music appearances were made by Apl.De.Ap and Will.I.Am who were also the recipients of the Spirit award. Other guests in attendance included country singer Sheryl Crow, John Legend, Peter Max, Donna Karan, fashion model Karlie Kloss and Susan Lombardi.

It was definitely a night of fun, celebration and honor for such a worthy cause.
