New Yorkers showed off their favorite Max Mara designs at the new Whitney opening party on April 24. As a presenting sponsor of the museum, the brand hosted the intimate fĂȘte for 80 guests, which featured a dinner of ricotta stuffed ravioli and poached sea bass, as well as speeches from architect Renzo Piano and Max Mara chairman Luigi Maramotti, a long time art collector, who said, “I have only one fear – that it’s going to be too successful. I’m serious. The success is going to be overwhelming.”

And Maramotti may have had a point, some 4000 people jammed the gallery floors for the after party and rocked out to D.J. sets by Harley Viera Newton, St. Vincent, Lolawolf and Zoe Kravitz. Amongst them were Sarah Jessica Parker, Dakota Fanning, Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti, Chiara Clemente, Alba Clemente, Princess Alexandra of Greece, Nathalie de Gunzburg, Donna de Salvo, Joanne Cassullo, Laurie Simmons, Josephine Meckseper, Pamela Golbin, Milly Piano, Natalie Joos, Vlad Roslyakova, Laurie Tisch, Solange Knowles, Prabal Gurung, Betsey Johnson, Barbara Bush, Julie Macklowe, Cecilia Dean and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld.
