Mayakoba Residences Hosts La Ceiba Dinner & Clas Azul Tequila Tasting

There’s no dinner like a La Ceiba Dinner. On Thursday, August 18, luxury Mexican resort Mayakoba Residences’ Managing Director Carlos Orozco hosted a private party in the garden of Southampton restaurant, Union Cantina, owned by Ian Duke and David Hilty.

The event featured an 8-course authentic Mayan tasting menu prepared by Executive Chef of Rosewood Mayakoba Juan Pablo Loza and Union Cantina’s Executive Chef Scott Kampf. The delicious meal replicated the dishes served exclusively at Rosewood Mayakoba resort, located in the Riviera Maya. The name of the La Ceiba Dinner derives from the ceiba tree, also known as one of Mayan culture’s most important symbols, representing prosperity, strength and unity.

The event—coordinated by the Sroka Worldwide marketing team, headed by industry veteran and company founder Neal Sroka—also featured a special tasting of ultra-premium tequila Clase Azul.

Guests mingled throughout the evening while dining and taking snapshots among the beautiful backdrop of the space, which displayed gleaming string lights and Mexican artwork. Like they say, “eat, drink and be merry.”
