The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is yet to present another sensational exhibition—Manus X Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology. The exhibit is aimed to explore how fashion designers utilize technology to create haute couture and ready-to-wear clothing.

With more than a hundred pieces to be displayed—from Chanel intricate gowns to Christopher Kane blooming runway garments—the idea is to show how the distinction between the haute couture, handmade predominantly, and prêt-à-porter, machine-made, has become increasingly blurred as both disciplines have embraced the practices and techniques of the other.

The preview featured works by dozens of designers, including Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Helmut Lang, Miuccia Prada, Yves Saint Laurent and many others.

Among the notable attendees were Stefano Tonchi, Thomas P. Campbell, Andrew Bolton, Anna Wintour, TK Wonder, Alina Cho, Amy Bessette, Anita Borzyszkowska, Sally Singer and Virginia Smith.
