We at AVENUEinsider always appreciate the delectable bites and bubbly that are de rigueur for just about every well-heeled soiree in the city. Thursday’s Krug Lovers Party – held in a six story historical townhouse devoted entirely to the world’s first luxury champagne – took that up several notches and may have spoiled us just a little too much. Krug U.S. Brand Director Carl Heline welcomed guests the likes of Jamee Gregory, Genevieve Jones, Sophie Elgort, and Frederick Anderson to explore the six floors of the Krug House – each a tribute to the six generations of the Krug family at the helm since 1843 – whilst sampling some of the finest the Champagne House had to offer in addition to delectable bites such as Krug infused risotto.

This Krug House marked its second bow in New York – it debuted in the summer of 2011 at yet another luxurious downtown townhouse – and has since been exported to other upscale markets, among them Aspen and Los Angeles. Throughout the week, the House played host to private dinners and tastings, including two events with Chef Marc Forgione to benefit the James Beard Foundation.

“With each Krug House,” said Heline, “we strive to recreate [Maison Krug founder] Joseph Krug’s unique vision of a Champagne House founded on the philosophy that the essence of champagne is pleasure itself.” The Krug Lovers party most certainly lived up to that mantra, closing with a surprise performance by MNDR. With that, there was no need for a nightcap.
