The MoMA held a luncheon on Thursday February 5th to present its David Rockefeller award. The award is given every year to an individual from the business community who exemplifies enlightened generosity and effective advocacy of cultural and civic endeavors. It is named for the museum’s honorary chairman, David Rockefeller, who was a pioneer in developing strong links between the corporate community and cultural organizations, by working and supporting projects such as the Chase Manhattan Art Collection and the Business Committee for the Arts as well as other cultural institutions in New York and around the country.

This year, the award was presented to Terry J. Lundgren, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Macy’s, Inc. for his outstanding philanthropic leadership in the arts, which includes serving as chairman and honoree for Parsons and Carnegie Hall, as well as countless other charities and institutions. The Award luncheon benefits the Museum’s educational programs.

Present at the event were the co-chairs, Marie-Josée Kravis, President, and Jerry I. Speyer, Chairman of the Museum’s Board of Trustees as well as Tina Stephan, David Rockefeller Jr, Susan Rockefeller, Darren Walker, Dan Orwig, Oscar Feldenkreis and Harlan Bratcher.
