MoMA’s Party in the Garden

The night was a little cold, a little drizzly, and a lot of fun. The Museum of Modern Art’s annual Party in the Garden couldn’t be stopped by June’s cold front, instead turning up the temperatures with hot DJ sets, famous artists, and a slew of A-List guests.


While the normal setting of the Rockefeller Sculpture Garden was mostly abandoned thanks to the weather, inside was filled with the sounds of clinking champagne glasses and party chatter as the Museum honored artists Kara Walker and Richard Serra.


David Rockefeller, whose mother founded the museum in 1929, was also celebrated with a toast, a dinner of Maine lobster, and a special serenading by Harvard’s iconic a cappella group, the Krokodiloes.


Outside, DJ sets by The Weeknd and Chromeo carried on despite the drizzle.


Also in attendance was Ariana Rockefeller, Jeff Koons, Wendi Murdoch, Tamara Mellon, Ariana Huffington, Bill Cunningham, Agnes Gund, Steve McQueen, and Ricki Noel Lander.
