Mondrian’s downtown debut

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Benjamin Noriega Ortiz’s vision has gone from SO LA to SO SoHo—New York that is. Ortiz is the man (along with the company’s in-house design team) who re-imagined the Mondrian LA. Now he and the Morgans Hotel Group have announced that the Mondrian brand is making its downtown debut this March.

The 270-room hotel boasts four suites complete with terraces (perfect for spotting the street style so prevalent in that ‘hood), a 25th-floor Penthouse and a 150-seat restaurant, Imperial No. Nine, where Chef Sam Talbot will introduce his interpretation of sustainable seafood.

The hotel will bring similar charm and energy that the neighborhood is known for—offering innovations in retail, art and culinary experiences. We can’t wait to see what fashionables frequent it’s new sophisticated SoHo spot.
