As a prelude to fashion week, Moscow-native luxury designer Marina Ilchenko unveiled for New York her latest couture eveningwear and fine fur collection, Marusya.  Mink to fox, chinchilla and sable, plus crocodile and lizard skins were all on display for New York’s fashion elite who were prepared to pay handsome sums in hopes of purchasing pieces from this private preview.

Attendees such as Ann Caruso, Chris Mack, Tinsley Mortimer and special guest Kelly Rutherford were lavished in the plushness at the Peninsula Hotel on Fifth Avenue Thursday night.

Each admired the collection, inspired by the works of Helmut Newton. The pieces were punctuated by particular shades of white, black, brown, silver, and camel – classic colors perfect for the classic pelage such as these.

The presentation itself was priceless as were some of the furry fashions ranging in price from $12,000 to $25,000. But with perfect pieces comes a premium price – well worth every ruble.
