Moving with Mackage: The Movie

Friday, January 27, 2017

Let’s move! Or get in touch with nature. Or, maybe, take a cue from Mackage and do both. The Canadian outerwear brand brand has released a new promotional film,  “The Mackage Versus Nature,” that speaks to the desire to stay warm and protected while looking your best.

The interpretive modern dance plays out as a battle evocative of the struggle against wind, ice/snow, and cold, set to a tribal drum beat of blizzard and sleet sound effects. As a dancer zips up the Mackage Collar it silences the forces of nature so the wearer of the Mackage down coat prevails.

The featured styles in the video are called Edward and Marla, shown in both men’s and women’s versions. Both feature an an inside vest and double collar for added warmth. All fur hoods and trims are removable to adapt to the surrounding climate. How about using that fox trim as a scarf? Not a bad idea.

Coats feature ventilation eyelets inside the armholes for breathability and a wool-knit ribbed cuff to lock out the cold. All coats have lined pockets to keep hands warm even on the coldest of days (or when you forget your cashmere gloves). Check out the film below.
