On Friday, July 1, The New York Academy of Art hosted a dinner in honor of the Water | Bodies, an exhibition at the Southampton Arts Center. The dinner was at the Sag Harbor home of Steven Gambrel and James Anderson.

Guests included Donna Karan, Brook Shields, Eric Fischl and New York Academy of Art president David Kratz.

Water | Bodies is curated by Kratz and Fischl. The exhibit presents painting, sculpture, photo and print works on the theme of the human figure in and around water. Pieces by newly minted MFAs hang alongside major works from established artists. Participating artists include Fischl, Ross Bleckner, Isca Greenfield-Sanders, April Gornick, Ralph Gibson, Michael Halsband, Enoc Perez and David Salle. The exhibit is sponsored by Cadogan Tate. It has been on view since June 24, but the opening reception was over the holiday weekend on July 2. Catch the show through July 31.

The Southampton Arts Center is open from Thursday through Sunday and is located at 25 Jobs Lane, Southampton. For more information, visit southamptonartscenter.org or call 631-283-0967.
