The launch of the new New York Fashion Week: Men’s yesterday, July 13, was always going to be a glamorous affair.

And with showcases from up-and-coming US designers, prestigious sponsors and celebrity fashion ambassadors, the opening day of New York’s first dedicated program of menswear designs did not disappoint.

Diane von Furstenberg, President of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), took to the podium at Skylight Clarkson Square- where most of this week’s shows will be held- along with Chief Executive Steven Kolb, to welcome guests to what will surely be an exciting week of shows.

Over 40 designers will showcase their spring/ summer collections during the four-day period.

Event sponsor, Amazon, hosted an opening party last night in collaboration with East Dane, MyHabit and the CFDA, to celebrate the menswear program.

Stylish guests in attendance included Joe Jonas, basketball player Dwayne Wade, designer Michael Bastian, actor Darren Criss, Phillip Lim, model Sara Sampaio and Instagrammer Di Mondo.

New York Fashion Week: Men’s will run until Thursday, July 16.
