Last night’s Library Lions was one for the books—literally! Known as the largest annual event hosted by The New York Public Library, the evening attracted notable guests to the institution’s Stephen A. Schwarzman Building for a truly memorable celebration.

The evening honored five distinguished individuals, playwright Alan Bennett, dancer Judith A. Jamison, illustrator and author Maira Kalman, novelist Karl Ove Knausgaard, and activist and author Gloria Steinem, for outstanding achievements in their respective fields. Cocktails and a formal dinner were served while singer, Renée Fleming hit the stage for a standout performance.

Also in attendance were Christine and Stephen Schwarzman, Abby and Howard Milstein, Monica and David Zwirner, Princess Firyal of Jordan, Tali and Boaz Weinstein, and Louise Grunwald.
