What happens when you bring together Simon Doonan, Jonathan Adler, Pat Cleveland and Ralph Pucci, in one room? Serious fashionable fun. On Tuesday evening, the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) did just that. Five hundred of the city’s brightest—among them, artists, designers and philanthropists—hit Pier Sixty dressed to the nines to celebrate the institution’s 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee.

Host Doonan and MAD honored is longtime trustee Charles S. Cohen; the late architect Zaha Hadid; creative director of Italian design house MISSONI Angela Missoni; and artist Yinka Shonibare MBE, with this year’s Visionaries! Awards. Each took home trophies created by New York-based artist Tom Sachs. Guests also raised a glass to MAD’s new Nanette L. Laitman Director, Jorge Daniel Veneciano.

The evening kicked off with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by a seated dinner and awards presentation. A total of $1.7 million was raised to help fund MAD’s education and public exhibition programs as well as general operations.
