One (Rainy) Day Without Shoes

This morning was the 4th annual “One Day Without Shoes” Barefoot Walk at the Christopher Street Pier. Lead by model Anne V. and TOMS Shoes, the walk was to bring awareness to the impact a pair of shoes has on a child’s life- the ones who go without shoes every day- unwillingly.

This brand was founded on the premise of “One for One” aka every pair of shoes that is purchased, a pair of new shoes will be given to a child in need. How amazing is that?! If you don’t already have a pair- Go. Buy. Now. ( They come in an absorbent amount of colors, patterns and fabrics so there is bound to be one that suits your style!

Founder and “Chief Shoe Giver” Blake Mycoskie said, “By imagining a life without shoes, we can all contribute to the awareness of these conditions…” Not even a rainy day like today could stop these guys from doing good. Talk about an inspiration!

What’s the Point?

Upstate, nature trumps social voyeurism. That’s the point.
