The internet is a world wide game of telephone and we learned this at Avenue when a story in WWD about us got misreported and went viral – ¬†ending up even in Chinese. The WWD piece was about how I was becoming the Editor of Avenue (true), but major sites like New York Magazine, Vanity Fair and Style.com got the facts all jumbled and said I was “succeeding” Julie Dannenberg – who is actually the president of Avenue and not our editor. They also failed to mention that the extremely talented editor Janet Allon is still on board and will be writing and editing for us in the future. New York Magazine corrected their mistake – now if only we could learn Mandarin so we could get those Chinese websites to get the facts straight.
