Valentine’s Day was highlighted by the glamorous opening of the opulent Palm Beach Jewelry, Art & Antique Show, and its 15th Anniversary was celebrated with an afternoon vernissage benefit for the Cancer Alliance of Health and Hope, prior to six days on which the vast and luxurious exposition is open to the public.  Hosted at the spacious West Palm Beach Convention Center by a Committee of Designers, including Bruce Bierman, Lars Bolander, Lisa Erdmann, Lillian Fernandez, Jennifer Garrigues, Chad Hoeft, Margot Larkin, Mario Nieviera and Scott Snyder, a festive champagne reception allowed the throng of guests to prepare for the dazzling tour of displays from all over the world.

Such international purveyors of exquisite antiques as Butchoff, Solomon Treasure, The Art of Time, Macklowe, Nicolo Melissa, Roberto Freitas, Steinitz, Toulouse, and S&S Tims were interspersed among renowned art galleries, including David David, Holden Luntz, McCarty, Parker, Trinity House and Willow, with a stunning group of breathtaking exhibits by such famed jewelry firms as Aaron Faber, Bayco, Betteridge, Fred Leighton, Rehs Diamonds, Saboo, Taket, Yafa and Sam Saidian completing the presentation.

A committee of local social pillars, including Courtney Arnot, Nancy Auersperg, Jackie and Beau Breckinridge, Janet and John Cafaro, Ansley and Philip DiLeo, Jackie Weld Drake, Susan Dwinell, Suzanne Frank, Virginia Sheerin and John Gildea, Gloria Herman, Leslie Hindman, Susan Malloy, Blanche Napoleon and Gordon McCoun, Grace and Chris Meigher, Patty and Anthony Myura, Melissa Parker, Matt McCormick, David Ober, Polly Onet, Judi and Raymond Richards, Martin and Audrey Gruss, Brewer Shoeller, Terri and Gary Shottenstein, Cindy and John Sites, Jacqueline Michel and John Weisman, Barbara and Mark Zand and Felicia Taylor, received their smartly attired friends in front of an exotic collection of avian plumage, gigantic moths, and taxidermied octopi, but this fascinating showcase did not dissuade attendees from enjoying the caviar blinis or smoked salmon, egg salad and cucumber sandwiches served by a platoon of waiters.

Among the socialites lending their support were Anka Palitz, Craig Dix, Geoffrey Bradfield, Roric Tobin, Scott Diament, Michael Atchison, Jane Pontarelli, Lee and Cece Black, Judi Parker, Anne Copeland, Eileen Judell, Nicole di Cocco, Harrison Morgan, Alexander Goudieri, Rod Helm, Tony and Cynthia Maltese and Amy Hoadley
