It’s the art of eating! On Sunday, June 26, members of the Parrish Art Museum Contemporaries Circle enjoyed brunch at the Surf Lodge in Montauk.

The brunch was hosted by Steering Committee Member James Salomon of Salomon Contemporary, along with Jayma Cardoso and Randy Scott of The Surf Lodge. Notable guests includes David Salle, Cindy Sherman, Eric Fischl and Nicole Miller.

The Parrish Contemporaries Circle is a membership program for art aficionados between ages 21 and 45. Members enjoy invitations to programing and social events in New York City and on the East End throughout the year.

Based in Water Mill in a Herzog & de Meuron designed building, the Parrish Art Museum has been a fixture on the East End since 1897. Inspired by the natural setting and artistic life of Long Island’s East End, the Parrish illuminates the creative process and how art and artists transform our experience and understanding of the world and how we live in it. The Museum fosters connections among individuals, art, and artists through care and interpretation of the collection, the presentation of exhibitions, publications, educational initiatives, programs and artists-in-residence. The museum’s permanent collection features American paintings by such iconic artists as William Merritt Chase, Thomas Moran and Childe Hassam. Two sculptures by Roy Lichtenstein greet museum attendees at the entrance.

Currently on view is Radical Seafaring, a multidisciplinary exhibition, publication and program initiative that includes two-dimensional works, sculptural objects, vessels, models, film and video, off-site commissions and boat trips around East End waterways. Visitors can also view a number of works from the Parrish’s permanent collection.

The Parrish Art Museum is located at 279 Montauk Highway, Water Mill. For additional information, call 631-283-2778 or visit parrishart.org.
