With all the hustle and bustle around Art Basel Miami Beach, art lovers and collectors have found a safe haven retreat at a private dinner party hosted by Galen and Hilary Weston at their home to celebrate the opening of Per Kirkeby: Echo of the Light. The exhibition runs from December 5 to April 29, at The Gallery at Windsor in Vero Beach, Florida, and displays a selection of Kirkeby’s paintings and monotypes from the past 25 years, from idiosyncratic artworks created in the late 1980s to his latest pieces.

The preview began with a curated tour by Olivier Berggruen and Kadee Robbins, accompanied by a panel discussion about the artist’s background and his unique style. The exhibition marks the first time this selection of Kirkeby’s paintings have been shown in the United States—no wonder that party attendees have included only the art world elite and New York society, such as Anh Duong, Anne McNally, Anne Pasternak, Paul Renwick, Beth Rudin DeWoody, Allison Sarofim, Margaret Carr-Harris and Danna Swarovski.

Bronson van Wyck, the New York-based event planner extraordinaire, transformed Weston’s house into a magical tropical resort, while distinguished Danish chef Mads Refslund presented a state of the art and delicious three-course dinner for all to enjoy.
