Cornelia Guest couldn’t choose between Beverly Hills and Capri. I can hardly blame her.

Cornelia Guest is a woman of all trades; she is an actress, author, animal activist and vibrant philanthropist. The daughter of fashion icon C. Z. Guest, she inherited her mother’s impeccable tasteperhaps the best asset one can have when exploring offerings from the world’s most fantastic cities. Though Guest might argue that her beloved terriers, who are just as worldly as she, are her true travel trump cards.

Fabulous places, near and far

My favorite place in the world to travel is: A toss up between Beverly Hills, CA and Capri, Italy. I love Beverly Hills; I see friends and always go to great restaurants. I stay in the Beverly Hills Hotel. It’s home away from home and Anita Gilles, head of housekeeping, takes care of me—I have my own robe with my name on it. One of my favorite restaurants is Il Piccolino.

In Capri, Scalinatella Hotel is a small family-owned hotel and it is the perfect retreat. Capri is so relaxing and just beautiful and I love the water.

Shopping and sunshine: universal languages

In Beverly Hills I like to hike, see friends, sit by the pool, go to the beach and shop. Visitors should have lunch or dinner at Il Piccolino, Tower Bar, and Native Foods. Visit Venice for the beach and the boutique mall, Malibu Country Mart, is a great place. For shopping, I recommend Intermix on Robertson Boulevard. Head over to Objets D’Art & Spirit on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles and pick up candles, jewelry, and great artifacts.

In Capri, relax! I like to go to La Fontana for lunch and Aurora Restaurant is a must. Sit in the sun on the rocks, go to the stores; they are wonderful, and take a boat ride to Scoglio del Monacone.

Fantastic finds

I adore an old ceramic dog head ink well with a chip on the ear, found at a Paris flea market. Another favorite is a Ganesha statue I got from Objets D’Art & Spirit in Los Angeles, It’s my good luck charm. Everything I see inspires me, good or bad. In Capri the simplicity and elegance always inspires me.

Man’s best travel companion

I can’t travel without: My dogs—Olive, my westie and Cash, my newfie——and one of my Cornelia Guest cruelty free handbags.

Destinations ahead

Egypt, Turkey, Pompeii and The Grand Canyon are a few of my places on my bucket list.
