Indie stars came out Wednesday night, August 12 for the premiere of Noah Baumbach’s new film “Mistress America” at the Sunshine Cinema.  The New York-centric film starring Greta Gerwig and Lola Kirke is an eccentric, contemporary satiric comedy that follows the lives of soon-to-be stepsisters Brook and Tracy as they navigate their lives in the chaotic, cutthroat city.

Attendees included Heather Lind, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Matthew Shear, Cindy Cheung, Rebecca Henderson, Lori Petty, John Cameron Mitchell, Dean Wareheim, Wallace Shawn, Scott Devendorf, Sam Rockwell, Leslye Headland, Zac Posen, Griffin Dunne, Saffron Burrows, Taylor Hackford, Pamela Romanowsky, Geoffrey Fletcher and Waris Ahuluwalia.

After the screening, the film’s VIPs were joined by Lena Dunham’s sister Grace Dunham, actress Tavi Gevinson, Salman Rushdie, Girls star and lead actress’ sister Jemima Kirke, and directors Wes Anderson and Darren Aronofsky in the Boom Boom Room at the Top of the Standard for an after party.

“Mistress America” is now in theaters.
