R.I.P. Mario Buatta, 1935-2018

The Prince of Chintz Mario Buatta, the decorating legend, prankster, man about town, and New York icon, has died after several years of decline that nonetheless saw him make a regular effort to remain a presence on the Manhattan scene.  In his honor, here is cartoon by Wendy Wasserstein and Blair Drawson that appeared in the April 2003 AVENUE.  We’ll miss you, Boo.
