Two empowering fashion brands, Ramy Brook and India Hicks, came together last Wednesday, October 14, for an exclusive shopping event showcasing their new fall collections.

Held at designer Ramy Brook Sharp‘s NoLita boutique, guests enjoyed light bites and drinks while checking out the latest goods. “Both India and I have a wonderful friend who connected us—given the aesthetics of each of our brands, the idea to host a pop-up at my boutique was so natural!” said Sharp. Upon stepping inside the cozy store, were clothing racks filled with women’s ready-to-wear pieces including printed and solid gem-toned silk blouses, cool and casual dresses, and smart separates from Ramy Brook. In addition, there were poppy pink tops sold in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and luxury pullovers and leggings from the brand’s ath-leisure line, Après Ramy Brook.

In the center of the store was an eye-catching display of accessories from India Hicks. “Every item from the line tells a story. A lot of my British heritage and island stories are shown in my collections,” said Hicks, who currently lives in the Bahamas. Pieces from the collection offer quite a unique perspective, and range from golden jewelry charms aka “Indi Tokens” inspired by her grandmother’s charm bracelet to canvas bags with Hick’s signature beetle print inspired by the “unwelcomed but very much loved guest” who frequently visits her home. The items are usually only sold online and through networks of inspiring entrepreneurial women who serve as ambassadors of the brand.

Overall, the event was a hit, and as Sharp says, “who doesn’t love spending a few hours shopping and sipping champagne with friends?”
