It was announced today that the former Creative Director of W, Dennis Freedman (he worked at the magazine for two decades), has been named the Creative Director of Barney’s New York. His appointment ¬†effectively replaces beloved fashion writer and dandy-about-town Simon Doonan,¬†who is now Barney’s “Ambassador at Large.”

But Doonan isn’t disappearing. In fact, tonight the style guru is a guest judge on Bravo’s The Fashion Show, alongside hosts Iman and Isaac Mizrahi. In Episode 8 of the cut-throat catwalk competition, Doonan will select vintage looks for the contestants to interpret into garments ready for the runway. It’s called “Eccentric Glamour” and we can’t think of anyone more eccentric, glamorous or witty than Doonan.

Tune in tonight at 10 p.m. We can see Doonan with his own reality show any season now.
