Red Hot Rachel Weisz & “The Whistleblower”

Thursday, July 28, 2011

Rachel Weisz was red hot last night at the screening of her new film The Whistleblower, hosted by the Cinema Society & Dior Beauty with DeLeon.

The film was inspired by actual events and tells the story of an American police officer (Weisz) who takes a job working as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia. The political thriller explores a devastated country filled with corruption and cover-ups and Weisz’s performance already has Oscar buzz.

Guests gathered downtown at the Tribeca Grand Hotel for the screening, and then to Jimmy at the James Hotel for the after party. Spotted: Daniel Craig, Anna Wintour, Gerard Butler, Matthew Settle, Pablo Schreiber, Stephen Baldwin, Albert Hammond Jr., Nicole Miller, Patricia Field, Hamish Bowles, Olivier Theyskens, Sante D’Orazio, Carlos Leon, Lorenzo Martone, Daniel Benedict, Cheyenne Tozzi, Fern Mallis, Genevieve Jones, director Larysa Kondracki,  producers Amy Kaufman & Celine Rattray and Kathy Bolkovac (the inspiration for Weisz’s character).
