On October 2nd, notable New Yorkers stepped out for Rockefeller University’s “Celebrating Science” lecture and benefit, led by world-class scientists and renowned child health care experts. Among those in attendance were David and Julia Koch, Eliza and Alex Bolen, Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss, Celerie Kemble and Boykin Curry, Claudia Overstrom and Celine Rattray. All eyes were on Dr. Jeffrey Friedman, as he took to the podium to discuss the most recent scientific advances revolutionizing our understanding of human development and childhood diseases. Following his remarks guests made their way to a tented dinner on the university’s esplanade. Later in the evening, Hugh Hildesley of Sotheby’s worked his auction magic, prompting a bidding frenzy for all to enjoy. The evening raised more than $1 million in support of the Discovery Fund.
