The AVENUEinsider has a major style crush on J. Crew and it’s amazingly chic womenswear designer (and AVENUE Best Dressed Lister) Jenna Lyons. Yesterday at Industria Superstudio, J. Crew presented it’s Fall 2011 collection for guys and girls. We flipped when the first female model we spotted was a total Jenna Lyons look-a-like. “Everyone has been saying that,” Lyons admitted to us with a laugh. Even Fashion Week guru Fern Mallis (just back from Fashion Week in Charleston) agreed. “That girl really looks like Jenna,” Mallis said.

Looking like Lyons means looking super cool. The collection was colorful (bright orange!), young yet sophisticated and had unexpected touches like bunches of bangles over a sweater sleeve and leopard print flats. And let’s not forget the guys. The menswear, designed by dapper and handsome Dutch native Frank Muytjens was filled with must-gets like the chunky lace-up brogues which the AVENUEinsider plans to sport exactly as they were shown: with rolled up jeans.

We adored every stitch at J. Crew and had fun seeing fashion folks like photographer Hanuk Hanuk, Scott “The Sartorialist” Schulman, Michael Macko, Edward Barsamian, Georgina Schaffer, Kristian Laliberte of Refinery29, Matthew Marden, Cator Sparks and lovely Lisa Salzer who showed us her Lulu Frost earrings that she designed for a new capsule collection for J. Crew (more on those gems later).

We had our iPhone with us so check out the pics we snapped. See you at the J. Crew store very soon!
