Save Venice’s Masked Beauties

Thursday, March 17, 2011

The Plaza Hotel looked like a scene from “Eyes Wide Shut” as masked beauties filled the grand, gilded ballroom for Save Venice – a must for the dress-up to the nines crowd. Luckily, Valentino and Bulgari were sponsors of the benefit so many girls – like Amanda Hearst, Alexandra Lind Rose, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Lydia Fenet and Adelina Wong Ettelson were decked out in V and B (so much healthier than drinking a G and T).

Masks ranged from enormously elaborate (to the point where the AVENUEinsider could barely recognize people we have known for years) to a simple band of lace, sported by Dini von Mueffling who was in Lanvin.

When we took off our mask and could see clearly, The AVENUEinsider spotted: Francesco and Alba Clemente, Alina Cho, Amy Fine Collins, Luigi Tadini, Veronica Beard, Amanda Ross, Euan and Lucy Sykes Rellie, Andrew Saffir and Daniel Benedict, Elisa Sednaoui, Carlos Souza, Dani Stahl, Robert Sepulveda, Fran Farber, Brad Goreski, Natalia Obramovich, Kristian Laliberte, Gigi Mortimer, Richard and Marcia Mishaan, Peggy Siegel, Scott Currie, Eva Lorenzotti, Martin Dawson, Coralie Charriol Paul, Arthur Wayne, Janie Bryant, Mark Gilbertson – and that’s just a stylish smidgen of the crowd.

We loved seeing Emily Smith the queen of “Page Six” chatting away with the social world’s new star: Courtney Love. Can we be expecting lots of nice future items about La Love in The New York Post? Stay tuned.
