On May 9th the Rockefeller University hosted its 16th Annual Women and Science Lecture and Luncheon.  Founded in 1997, this initiative fosters a notion of scientific sisterhood and nexus of support; championing women’s health, women’s contributions to science and endorsing scientific research as a focal point for female philanthropy.

This year’s guest lecturer was Rockefeller professor and renowned neurobiologist Cori Bargmann, Ph.D, leader of President Obama’s major national brain research initiative. Illustrious guests included: Samantha Boardman Rosen, M.D., Sydney R. Shuman, Tory Burch, Lulu C. Wang, Lydia A. Forbes, Isabel P. Furlaud, Henry and Nancy Kissinger, Lea Carpenter Brokaw, Fe Fendi, Rula Jebreal, Justine Koons, Deeda Blair and Debra Black among others.
