See You Soon, Sladmore

Thursday, April 28, 2016

It’s that time of year again—the Spring Masters New York art and design fair is returning for its third edition. Come May 6-9, you can find over 60 leading dealers of fine art, design, furniture and jewelry displaying exceptional works from antiquity through the 21st century upon a visit to the historic Park Avenue Armory.

One solo exhibition that’s creating quite a buzz in the art world is Sladmore, a London-based sculpture gallery making its first debut in New York. Focusing on the finest quality bronzes, Sladmore is slated to show works by artists including Rodin, Bugatti, Degas, Maillol, Bourdelle, and Troubetzkoy.

Under the direction of co-director Edward Horswell (son of founders Jane and Harry Horswell), The Sladmore Gallery has truly soared with the expansion of artwork from ‘animaliers’ to include masters of the human form.

At Spring Masters New York, British sculptor Nic Fiddian Green will be on site to chat about his new works and ancient techniques of lost wax bronze casting, which will surely be a delight. Green’s iconic equine pieces have won over the hearts of art lovers across the globe, including celebrities Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe, Ringo Starr and JK Rowling.

Keep your eye out for Sladmore, the fascinating gallery is certainly one to watch.
