Following the trend of the “celebrity art exhibition” that has already been seen at MoMA with the Bjork Retrospective, Sotheby’s has collaborated with hip-hop musician Drake on their latest exhibit “I Like it Like This”. The exhibit, which is being held at the auction house’s contemporary art gallery S|2, is a celebration of 70 years of influential contemporary black American artists and will feature works by Jacob Lawrence, Gary Simmons and Jean-Michel Basquiat amongst others. Drake has provided musical curation by selecting songs to accompany highlighted works in the exhibition.

The Grammy-award winning singer joined friends and artists for the opening reception on May 7 where they viewed the collection, before heading over to Milk Studios for the after-party.

Guests included DJ Va$htie (who played at the party), Samuel Levi Jones, Michael Strahan, Jenné Lombardo, Scout LaRue Willis, Derek Fordjour, Betye Saar, Jane Holzer, Jill Stuart, Kate Foley and Justise Winslow.
