Over 900 of New York’s most notable gathered under the grand tents at Wickapogue Road in Southampton on August 1, dressed in their most stylish black-and-white, for an elegant evening of dining and dancing at the Southampton Hospital’s 57th Annual Summer Party, themed “Fantasia”.

The East End’s longest running annual benefit, chaired for the last time by Jean Remmel FitzSimmons with the support of Honorary Chair Howard Lorber and Underwriting Chair Jean Shafiroff, will once again advance the hospital’s Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department.

The plain, white tent was transformed inside with flowers and feathers to fit the gala’s whimsical theme, due in large part to the creativity of Tony Urrutia, and the atmosphere was only enhanced by the excitement and buzz surrounding the hospital’s recent announcement of a merger with Stony Brook.

Attendees and supporters, including president and chief executive of the hospital Robert Chaloner; Carolyn B. Maloney; Laura Lofaro Freeman; Somers Farkas; the event’s emcee Chuck Scarborough and his wife Ellen; Martin and Audrey Gruss; Emmanuel Fiore; Carl and Anne Grimm; Janna Bullock; Cindy Willis; Steve Bernstein; John and Melanie Wambold; David Arquette; Lauren Vernon; Shiela O’Malley Fuchs; Nicole DiCocco; Randi Schatz; and Allison Morrow, enjoyed music by the Alex Donner Orchestra and participated in a silent auction and raffle.
