If you’re spending Columbus Day Weekend in the City the Never Sleeps, choosing where to head for a night out can be overwhelming. Do you go to your old staple, where the bartender knows your order? Or check out that hot new place, but risk the pitfalls of the unknown—the crowd, the time in transit, the quality of the drinks…

New Yorkers are all about maximizing time, and new app HOOCH helps to make that a reality. HOOCH is a members only cocktail app, where users are gifted one free drink per day at some of New York City’s top cocktail bars, elite lunges and premiere restaurants. Once invited, members pay a fee for monthly or yearly memberships, and in return, they can show the app to participating venues to receive a drink every day.

Thinking about going out? The app uses your location and shows you participating bars in the area. Click on the venue, and HOOCH gives you hours and directions, as well as a brief description and information about featured cocktails. Tantalize the taste buds by learning about an establishment’s signature drinks before you order, making it easy to ditch your typical drink in favor of something more adventurous. Simply show the bartender your phone with the app pre-loaded, and the cocktail will appear, free of charge. A new drink is added to your account every day, but drinks that you don’t use in a 24-hour period will expire.

The app was developed in 2015 by nightlife veteran Aleksey Kernes (Hotel Chantelle), tech industry expert Lin Dai (Keek, Emmis NY and Alloy Media + Marketing), and digital marketing entrepreneur Jared Christopherson (Yellow Hammer Ad Agency). HOOCH is also available in Los Angeles, Austin, Dallas, Miami and Hong Kong.

Download HOOCH in the Apple App Store and on Google Play. For more information about HOOCH, click here.
