Summer Cocktails and Floating Diamonds at Chopard

Friday, July 26, 2013

YUE Magazine brought the beach to the city on Tuesday evening by celebrating the launch of their summer, nautical themed issue at Chopard’s Madison Avenue boutique. The intimate fete – hosted by Chopard CEO Marc Hruschka and YUE Magazine Publisher Chiu-Ti Jansen, brought out a distinguished group of guests including designer Zang Toi; China Institute Chairman Chien Chung Pei; Lady Liliana Cavendish; Asia Society trustee Stephanie Foster; Jean Shafiroff; Di Mondo; Roric Tobin; and Evelyn Tompkins.

“Whenever I went to China lately, I could not help but noticing how yachting and sailing have become a hot topic for all types of lifestyle publications,” Jansen told the lobster roll-supping crowd. “Nautical voyages,” she continued, “especially to a foreign land, bring out the free spirit of adventures and openness.” To echo the nautical theme, Jansen sported a royal blue ribbed cotton sundress by SANDRO Paris, cobalt blue Jimmy Choo platform peep toe sandals, and a few of the Chopard signature “Happy Diamond” pieces, including the diamond earrings from their newest, China inspired Happy 8 collection. The rest of the equally chic guests had fun trying on pieces from the famed jewelry house’s latest collections whilst sipping Sant Arturo wines and Alacran cocktails. Chinese actress Gao YuanYuan graces the cover of the magazine’s issue.
