AVENUE and The Bushcamp Company have partnered to provide one lucky couple with a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience. Travel to one of the last unspoiled wilderness regions in Africa, and stay in exclusive bushcamps and the award-winning Mfuwe Lodge in the South Luangwa National Park, one of the top 10 national parks in the world.

On this five-day, giveaway trip, winners will be able to explore Mfuwe, Zambia on guided walked safaris and game drives, and will end each day with sundowners in different locations, taking in the African sky. This couple’s vacation is complete with romantic dinners under the stars and a couples’ massage at the award winning Bush Spa.

Giveaway winners will also be able to interact with the local community, visiting schools and witnessing the work The Bushcamp Company puts in to ensuring locals have access to resources like education and clean water.

The Bushcamp Company works hard to ensure that the benefits of tourism reach the community in effective ways. They have set up a number of education and school projects that serve hundreds of children including sponsorships in school fees, books, uniforms and more, to providing lunch to over 2,500 children to help children’s mental alertness, and more.

Since 2014 The Bushcamp Company has installed more than 60 borehole water wells in the local Cheifdoms of the Luangwa Valley to provide access to clean water. Water collection is often a flashpoint between animal and human conflict when both are going after the same vital resource. Providing access to underground aquifers through these borehole wells, communities are safer from surrounding wildlife, and no longer have to spend hours walking miles to find water.

In supporting the community further, The Bushcamp Company sends all organic food waste to a worm farm for composting. The compost is donated to local market gardeners who grow the vegetables that the company buys back. They also support community projects that reduce deforestation and encourage tree planting as well as looking for alternatives to fire wood use.

The vacation may only last five days, but the memories will last a lifetime, and the benefits tourism and The Bushcamp Company bring to the surrounding communities will impact generations.
