Tara Subkoff’s Triumphant Return at Imitation

Monday, February 14, 2011

Tara Subkoff returned triumphantly to the runway with her new label Imitation (which was once called Imitation of Christ and was co-creative directed by Chloe Sevigny).

Subkoff just survived a life-threatening brain tumor. And some models wore belts that spelled “Don’t Look Back” in gold letters – and Subkoff is not looking back. The Imitation collection was her best yet. The AvenueInsider loves the mix of silver and gold sequins, the black fringe, the long sweoping scoop drapes on the back of mini dresses and the fact that all the blonde models looked like Subkoff herself.

“I want to wear the green dress to the Vanity Fair Oscar party,” said Minnie Mortimer. “I want almost everything in the show,” gushed Rose McGowan. Also sitting front row: Gina Gershon, Chloe Sevigny, Liev Shreiber, Zani Gugelmann and Becka Diamond.

We would definitely try and imitate everything in the Imitation show.
