July officially marks the Hamptons high season, when Manhattanites abandon the sweltering city for the soft sand and cool breezes of Long Island’s South Fork. In the thick of the summer, we pack up our swimsuits, surf boards and linen sundresses and dive right into long summer days filled with grassy lawns, saltwater pools and beach clubs. We get to unwind with old friends at outdoor dinners that stretch late into the night; dance in the balmy heat at glamorous parties like the Watermill Center and Southampton Hospital benefits, and enjoy the grand old grounds of some of the most beautiful (and valuable) estates in the country. There is a certain group of people who make the East End the summer society headquarters—the beautiful, successful and energetic individuals who are on absolutely everybody’s guest lists. Some come from old, storied families; some have paved their own way; some are stalwarts, and some are having their moment now—but no gathering is complete without at least a handful of the Hamptons’ most wanted; the Summer of 2014 A-listers.
