Mark Badgley and James Mischka showed their signature statement evening dresses on a runway surrounding tableaux vivants of their day clothes and their new Home collection.  In the front row, the elegant Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering board member Muffie Potter Aston pondered AVENUE’s set of fashion week questions.

A woman’s outfit isn’t complete without….

..great shoes, a great bag and great jewelry.

What are runway shows good for nowadays?

Seeing friends, seeing fashion, kissing the designers you love and congratulating them.

How would you improve fashion week?

The location! I miss the centralized shows in midtown and Lincoln Center.  It made life effortless. I’d change the madness of the dash to get there on time.

What does fashion say about America right now?

Anything is possible and everything is okay.
