The doors swung open on Wednesday to welcome VIP guests to The 2016 Armory Show, revealing this year’s focus section “African Perspectives,” curated by Yvette Mutumba and Julia Grosse.

Dan Halter’s booth features intricate African masks, tartan fabrics and plastic bag materials; however, a pair of mannequin legs topped with a stack of tartan bags that tragically symbolize displacement of many of the artist’s fellow Africans.
