The CFDA Fashion Awards And Swarovski Host A Party For The Nominees

The Council of Fashion Designers of America Fashion Awards hosted their 2016 nominee and honoree announcement cocktail party on March 16 at New Museum. Hosted by Nadja Swarovski and Diane Von Furstenberg, the annual party is an exciting gathering, where CFDA reveals their list of honorees and nominees for the annual awards ceremony, to be held at the Hammerstein Ballroom on June 6, 2016.

As it was announced at the party, the class of 2016 stylish nominees, most of whom were present at the reveal, include Joseph Altuzarra for Altuzarra, Marc Jacobs, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler, Kate Mulleavy and Laura Mulleavy for Rodarte, and last year winners Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen for The Row. Menswear Designer of the Year nominees are Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne for Public School, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville for Rag & Bone, Tim Coppens, Thom Browne, and Todd Snyder. As for the Accessory Designer of the Year nominees are Altuzarra, Irene Neuwirth, Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel for Mansur Gavriel, McCollough and Hernandez for Proenza Schouler, and the Olsens for The Row.

The prestigious honorary Geoffrey Beene Achievement Award this year will be gifted to Norma Kamali and the Founder’s Award will be going to Donna Karan, with a special tribute to David Bowie, one of fashion’s true originals.

It was also publicized that for the first time the awards will be changing their format to an intimate dinner instead of just cocktails reception after the ceremony. Diane Von Furstenberg and Nadja Swarovski joined CFDA’s Steven Kolb to deliver the nominees list to the eagerly awaiting stylish crowd . Some of the fashionable attendees included Anna Wintour, Dao-Yi Chow, Maxwell Osborne, Joseph Altuzarra, Aurora James, Alex Orley, Tim Coppens, Irene Neuwirth, Laura Kim, Norma Kamali, Ryan Roche, and many more.
