The Rose Club at The Plaza Revives its Jazzy Roots with Live Performances by The Kat Gang Band and Lapis Luna

Wednesday, March 19, 2014

Overlooking The Plaza‘s magnificent Fifth Avenue lobby, The Rose Club encapsulates the famed hotel’s undeniable splendor in the form of a sophisticated yet spirited setting, flavored with a dash of modernity.

Located in the same intimate space previously occupied by the Persian Room — a once-legendary hotspot — The Rose Club is now offering live jazz performances two nights a week.

This practice is a nod, we presume, to the history of the storied locale, whose (Persian Room) walls echoed the musical stylings of countless blues and ragtime virtuosos like Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Billie Holiday, not too long ago.

Catch lovely vocalist Kat Gang sing alongside her jazz trio every Wednesday starting at 9pm, and vintage jazz and classic swing band Lapis Luna — featuring singer Shawn Aileen Clark — every Thursday, from 8:30pm until midnight.

As you kick back, relax, and soak in some soulful tunes, sip on one of The Club’s luscious signature libations, and order a bite or two from its sumptuous menu, which features a delectable array of light and gourmet fare.
