The fantastic organization New Yorker’s for Children, founded by former fire commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta, held their annual Fall Gala last night and it seemed like all of Manhattan’s A-Listers were in attendance, donning their Tuesday best to celebrate a special cause. Even President Obama couldn’t stop the event from going on, as most guests found themselves trapped in wall-to-wall traffic last night, with the President in town for a conference at the UN. Horns a-blazing New York’s society filed in to Midtwon hotspot Cipriani to honor the philanthropic work of NBA star (and style stud) Carmelo Anthony, before kicking off their six-inch heels for an evening of dining and dancing.

There’s nothing quite like Fall gala season, when the likes of Chris Del Gatto, Tinsley Mortimer, Zani Gugelman, Hilary Rhoda, Harley Viera Newton, Mary Alice Stephenson and Selita Ebanks bring out their very best gowns for a parade of fashion equal to that of the MET gala or the Oscars. Style winners of the evening? This AvenueInsider adored Ivanka Trump, who showed off her stunning post-baby body in a frothy, crimson confection with an over-sized bow on the rear from Carolina Herrera. Gugelman wowed in a Grecian-inspired cream gown complete with gold embelishments and a handsome man at her side, while actress Melissa George took the road-much-less-traveled and opted for a slick and sexy black, silk suit.
