The World Monuments Fund Honors Ellsworth Kelly and Mica Ertegün

At The Pierre Hotel in New York on Wednesday evening, October 22, the World Monuments Fund honored Ellsworth Kelly and Mica Ertegün at its annual Hadrian Gala. Previous honorees have included Brooke Astor, David Rockefeller Jr., Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales, and Marella and Gianni Agnelli. The award is inspired by the Roman Emperor Hadrian, who was especially known for supporting the arts and architecture.

Next year will mark the 50th anniversary for the organization, which works to preserve some of the world’s pinnacle pieces of architecture, from the Luxor Temple in Egypt, to the Great Wall of China, to historic Lower Manhattan.

Guests included Anne Bass, Mercedes Bass, Judy and Alfred Taubman, Peter DuchinAileen Mehle, David Netto, Kirk Henckels, Fernanda Gilligan, Bonnie Burnham, Mary McFadden, Guy Robinson, Fernanda Kellogg, Elizabeth Stribling, Abby Raphel, Amy Lemon Sutton, Alden Ramsey, Renvy Pittman, Lori Feldman, Irene Guggenheim, Donna Acquavella, William Acquavella, Agnes Gund, Barbara Hodes, Michael Gross, Elaine Sargent, Mark Rockefeller, Eileen Guggenheim, and Linda Wachner, . 

Celebrations continued on until late in the evening with an after-party at Phillips on Park Avenue, sponsored by Mulberry.
