Jewelry and lifestyle designer Lisa Jackson shows us the Japanese way

LISA JACKSON brings together her creative intuition, her business savvy and her entrepreneurial intuition to create her jewelry and lifestyle brand LJ CROSS. Following her career as an interior designer for A-list clients including Vera Wang, Tory Burch, Renée Zellweger, Michael J. Fox and the Blackstone Group, her love for travel, design and markets all over the globe led to the creation of LJ CROSS. Here, Jackson explains how her travels inform her designs.

Urban zen

The Aman Tokyo (in the Otemachi District) is the place to stay. The urban yet zen atmosphere makes this hotel. The architecture is all about scale and allows amazing views of the city.

Tokyo escape

Tokyo for the Japanese architecture, sake, sashimi, Japanese style, indie brands, cherry blossoms and indigo textiles.

Tokyo outings

When in Japan, I choose to stay in Tokyo because I love my Tokyo outings. I would recommend a run around the Imperial Garden (it’s magical) and hanging out in Harajuku for mind-blowing street fashion. Go to the Mori Art Museum, walk the Ginza and end the day at a traditional sushi restaurant. And, of course, drink lots of sake.

Inspiration found

I love to travel off the beaten path. It is an endless journey finding perspectives—tweaking and twisting what I see into my own. My favorite thing is when I find and meet undiscovered young and innovative designers.

On the roster

I’m excited to be exploring Chile and Cartagena this year! I believe there’s no such thing as a bad trip. I travel with enthusiasm and a laid-back attitude . . . always wearing diamonds.

I can’t travel without . . .

My [LJ Cross] rose gold and champagne diamond cobblestone trio cross necklace.
